Over the years I've been a part of many different types of photo sessions - weddings, graduations, engagements, portraits, and commercial. While I do put my soul into every photograph I make, there is a particular type of photo session that I hold close to my heart. I've had the chance to do numerous maternity sessions and have found that there are few things that can compare to the honest beauty of a mother-to-be, a proud father, and a baby that will be entering this world for the first time.
And just recently I had the opportunity to shoot a maternity session for my wife and I - our first. It was an amazing experience. It felt a little different from the other maternity sessions I've done. I wasn't expecting that. But I guess I should have. After all, this miracle inside her mother's womb, the joy and nervous anticipation, this journey we were on as first time parents…was ours.
